My photography explores people by understanding the places where they live and work and the events that shape their lives.
I use a documentary or narrative approach to my work. This allows me to capture many dimensions of my subjects -- weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, schools, sports events, the rhythms of community life.
I photograph as unobtrusively as possible, watching for moments that reveal emotion and character.
A former lawyer, I returned to a passion for photography that started when I was a teenager and continued through my years at Vassar College. I have studied at the International Center of Photography in New York and am a member of the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association.
